About

The truth is, this blog serves as a form of a year-long advent calendar, but because I am not one to simply "count down the days" in any season (and so far, neither is Henry), it had to be more than just that! Thus, it will chronicle something new for each week of the year. This is Henry and my jelly bean jar. It is our tree that we water each day; our prayer that we pull from the box; and our memory jar for Daddy (we have had some amazingly creative advice from fellow military family friends on how they dealt with geo-bachelor stints and deployments with their kiddos!). 

So...this is us, for now: 

• One momma. Mid-30's, runner, non-working biologist, sometimes-writer-of-fiction, all-the-time explorer of nature. Lover of one amazing husband, one sweet son, food and wine and in-the-flesh, good conversation, old cookbooks, road trips, and laughter. 

• One newly 2-year old...also a runner and all-the-time explorer of nature. Very good helper and listener, alphabet singer, reader of books, and block-tower-builder. Lover of fish sticks and yogurt raisins, construction vehicles, trains, long walks with mom, being silly, good hugs, wrestling and singing the sharkbait song from Finding Nemo with dad, and strong belly laughs.       

We are quite the team :)
